NEA

National Energy Action (NEA) offers a free service providing energy advice and help to householders in England and Wales on bills, support with fuel debt and keeping warm and safe in the home, as well as help with benefits advice and income maximisation.

It also operates a Community Retrofit Hub in Sheffield to provide help and support with accessing grants for home energy efficiency retrofit measures, such as insulation or renewable energy sources, including help with grant applications and advice on suitable measures.

Ecofit

Domestic Retrofit

SY Ecofit specialises in domestic retrofit and energy efficiency improvements, offering professional surveys and independent guidance.

Installation Services

They provide installation services for a range of measures including insulation, heat pumps, solar PV and ventilation systems.

Social Enterprise

Operating as a social enterprise, SY Ecofit reinvests surplus revenue into expanding their impact across South Yorkshire communities.

SY Ecofit is a Community Interest Company established by Sheffield residents in 2023 to help decarbonise South Yorkshire. They are working to build the local supply chain to develop more green jobs and retain money in the local economy. They are also developing Green Energy projects.

Planet First Energy is a social enterprise business-to-business energy consultant based in Sheffield delivering commercial, environmental and social benefit.

UK-Wide Services

Planet First Energy are the only social enterprise energy consultant in the UK, offering a full range of energy services to businesses across the UK.

Fuel Poverty Support

We support fuel poverty in the UK via our own energy advice clinic in Dronfield, providing advice and support to fuel poor households.

Sheffield Renewables

Sheffield Renewables is a Community Benefit Society run by volunteers and owned by members. Established in 2008 it funds, develops, owns and operates community renewable energy schemes across S. Yorkshire. Schemes are financed through investment in shares from members of the community.

Any surplus earnings are re-invested to support new work as well as benefiting people and communities in Sheffield through its Community Benefit Fund. They currently run five solar schemes across South Yorkshire and have been involved in hydro, anaerobic and wind development.

Our ethos is one of co-operation and partnership and we have mentored and cooperated with other community energy groups across the country and are happy to share our experience with other groups.

Sheffield Renewables is a member of Community Energy England and Co-ops UK.

SCC Housing Energy Efficiency Team

Funding Facilitation

Sheffield City Council's Housing Energy Efficiency Team facilitates millions of pounds worth of funding towards installing insulation, solar energy, energy efficient heating systems and more throughout Sheffield's housing stock.

Free Advice

They provide free advice and support to residents looking to secure funding to improve the energy efficiency of their home.

Community Engagement

They developed the Warm Homes Sheffield advice service and host an annual 'Warm Homes Sheffield: Live' event, where local residents can speak directly to a range of charities, organisations and community groups focused around achieving the city goal of Net-Zero by 2030.

One-Stop Shop for Energy Efficiency in the Private Rented Sector

Let Zero is an innovative project designed for private sector landlords and tenants. Let Zero is a face-to-face, online and telephone service which offers advice, information and trusted path for upgrading rented properties into warmer, healthier homes.

Let Zero offers expert guidance on how to improve the energy efficiency of your property, making it more sustainable and reducing energy costs, which starts by looking at the property's Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) and moves on to a discussion about possible options, and what additional services Let Zero can offer.
